Job Description

The Chemical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and optimal operation of production units within the plant. Reporting to the Shift Team Leader under the Operations Department, this individual is accountable for executing various responsibilities with minimal support.

This includes:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of processing equipment with minimal support from STL
  • Collaborating with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve process issues independently and as part of a team
  • Developing skills to address immediate corrective actions and interface with teams effectively
  • Executing field rounds, downloading data for approval, and providing feedback on round adequacy
  • Generating SAP notifications and assigning priority
  • Preparing equipment for handover to Maintenance and signing off permits for readiness
  • Performing gas testing and assessing confined space entry
Required Skills and Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • GCE 'O' or 'N' level passes in English, Mathematics, and a Science, or a good Diploma/NITEC in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Process Technology
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to Infineum Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and quality core values
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm for developing new skills and progressing as an individual
