Job Title: Senior Workplace Safety Specialist

Our organization is committed to guaranteeing a secure working environment through the implementation, maintenance, and regular review of its Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) procedures.

  • The incumbent will be responsible for conducting incident investigations, identifying causes of accidents, and non-compliance with organizational and legal WSH standards.
  • Risk assessments will be performed on identified workplace hazards, and the progress of corrective and preventive actions will be tracked.
  • Audits and site inspections will ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • The project management team will be advised on risk assessments, safety controls, and updates to relevant safety, health, and environmental legislation.
  • The permit-to-work system will be implemented effectively and monitored.
  • Safety-related complaints from residents or neighbouring estates will be addressed, and the project team will collaborate for timely resolutions.
  • Action will be taken immediately to remedy any non-compliance discovered during inspections and checks, documenting corrective actions.
  • All deficiencies observed during inspections or audits will be rectified promptly.
  • Accurate and up-to-date WSHE records will be maintained, and liaison with relevant authorities will occur when required.
  • Weekly and monthly WSHE reports will be compiled and submitted to the corporate WSHE department, developers, and consultants.
  • WSHE instructions and safety correspondences will be issued internally and to subcontractors as necessary.
  • Local and international WSHE safety awards applications will be prepared and assisted in applying for.
  • The effectiveness of corrective actions and improvements will be monitored and tracked to ensure they are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • SMMs (Safe Management Measures) will be reviewed and updated if recurring non-compliance is detected.
  • Safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions will lead to improved site safety and performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or a Degree in Safety Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Additional safety-related certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001 certification) will be an advantage.
