HVAC Design Specialist Job Description

The HVAC Project Engineer role is a key position in our organization, responsible for participating in mechanical engineering design, calculations, and preparation of bills of materials. The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation and submission of design and construction documents, as well as coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines to ensure project integration.

Liaison Role:

Liaising with customers and suppliers to address technical queries and ensure alignment with project requirements is an essential aspect of this role. The successful candidate will identify the company's scope of work within each assigned project and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during project execution.

Design Requirements:

The successful candidate will have solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and be knowledgeable in HVAC system calculations, including cooling capacity, pressure drop, and duct sizing. Familiarity with creating and interpreting P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), air flow diagrams, and DID (Ducting & Instrumentation Diagrams) is also required.

Technical Skills:

The successful candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD for drawing and design and competent in MS Office, especially Word and Excel. Experience in HVAC and duct installation is a significant asset for this role. Basic understanding of pipe sizing, selection, and installation, as well as basic knowledge of fire suppression systems, is a requirement.

Education and Qualifications:

A minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is a must for this role. A strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others is essential for this role. Eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities is also highly valued.
