The Ministry of Digital Development and Information is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of the Smart Nation ecosystem.

This role involves formulating and implementing data policies that guide the strategic management, sharing, and utilization of data as a national asset. The ideal candidate will have experience in policy and ecosystem development, with a strong grasp of technical concepts to bridge policy and implementation.

Responsibilities include refreshing whole-of-government (WOG) data governance structures and accountability frameworks, designing and strengthening system-level incentives and enablers, establishing and leading a Centre of Excellence for Data Governance, and driving the implementation of high-impact initiatives to advance public sector data governance outcomes.

Key Requirements
  • A background in related domains such as public policy, business, law, information/computer science, data analytics/statistics, engineering, or any related field.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in one or more of the following:

  • Policy and strategy
  • Data governance and policy
  • Ecosystem development
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Data management
  • Data privacy regulations

They will also possess the following skills:

  • Experience in policy and ecosystem development, with a sound grasp of technical concepts to bridge policy and implementation.
  • A strong systems perspective and ability to see the big picture.
  • Good perspective-taking skills, able to analyze issues from different agencies' standpoints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that can create a consensus on action from a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and business stakeholders.
  • Resourceful and proactive, particularly in proposing alternate solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Analytical and creative.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
