Job Title:

Loss Prevention Officer

Description:

The role of the Loss Prevention Officer is to protect assets and minimize losses by implementing security measures, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring CCTV systems to detect and deter theft and fraud.
  • Conducting regular patrols of the store and distribution centers, including sales floors, stockrooms, and loading docks.
  • Apprehending individuals engaged in shoplifting or internal theft while following company protocols and legal guidelines.
  • Preparing accurate incident reports and maintaining logs of security-related activity.
  • Collaborating with law enforcement and other security personnel as needed.
  • Assisting in the investigation of employee dishonesty, policy violations, or inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitoring point-of-sale transactions to detect potential fraudulent activity.
  • Providing education and support to store employees on loss prevention awareness and techniques.
  • Maintaining a visible presence in high-risk areas to deter potential loss.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail loss prevention. Prior experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Possess a Security Officer (SO) License from the relevant authorities.
  • Strong observational and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform apprehensions if necessary.
