Leadership Role: Governance Excellence Specialist

We seek a seasoned Governance Excellence Specialist to provide overarching governance support to our Asia and Africa-based funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality governance services, offering strategic advice to Boards and Committees, and collaborating closely with our teams in Singapore and globally.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive governance services to fund portfolio entity Boards and committees
  • Provide guidance to Boards and Committees on governance-related matters
  • Assist Asia and Africa teams in governance matters
  • Collaborate with legal and risk teams on the establishment of new funds and wind-up of funds at the end of their life cycle
  • Work with investments teams on acquisitions/dispositions by the funds
  • Support ongoing operations of the funds and their assets

As a key member of our Governance team, you will work closely with our Global Governance Team and other stakeholders to ensure effective governance practices and adherence to regulatory requirements. Your expertise will play a vital role in shaping our governance strategy and ensuring the long-term success of our business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate secretarial experience, preferably as a company secretary or in a comparable Governance role. You will possess superior time management, organizing, and prioritizing skills, with a strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to communicate with and coordinate various stakeholders, including Board Directors, regulators, external service providers, and various levels within the organization, is essential for success in this role.

Key Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma qualified or equivalent corporate secretarial qualifications with at least 4 years of relevant working experience
  • Eligible to be appointed as a Company Secretary in Singapore, if required
  • Depth of experience as a company secretary or in a comparable Governance role or similar role in a Corporate Secretariat
  • Ability to comprehend complex governance structures and governance applicable to them in order to provide appropriate governance advice
  • Superior time management, organising and prioritising skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of the role while building strong relationships and working effectively within a team environment
