The Role:

This professional will lead investment opportunities in renewable power and energy transition sectors, including industrial and hard-to-abate GHG emissions sectors in Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

S/He will be responsible for assessing investment opportunities, driving business development and transaction initiatives, and leading transactions from origination to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Origination:

• Support implementation of business development and transaction strategy
• Lead industry and market research to support investment strategies or identify transaction opportunities in Southeast Asia
• Conduct fundamental company and industry research
• Support investment thesis and identification of value creation strategies and assist in developing ideas for a transaction / deal structure
• Network and develop new investment ideas to grow the business

Execution:

• Lead team in all stages of a transaction's life cycle, collaborating with internal functional partners and business group leads as well as interfacing with counterparties and external advisors
• Lead due diligence process for a transaction that supports validation of business case supporting an acquisition and identify key transaction issues
• Lead negotiation, documentation and structuring of the transaction
• Lead preparation and presentation of investment materials to senior internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise, and articulate manner

Asset Management:

• Constantly and strategically thinking of ways to improve portfolio companies / investments, functional units within the platform and the company as a whole
• Work with management teams on strategic business initiatives at portfolio companies
• Monitor ongoing financial and operational performance of investments

Leadership:

• Manage, coach and develop talent by leading, overseeing and coaching investment professionals. Provide constructive and timely feedback to ensure quality team outcomes
• Represent the company externally and be a strong ambassador for the organization

Requirements:

7+ years of experience as an investment professional

Exposure to infrastructure and/or renewable industry in Southeast Asia

A proven track record of leading a team throughout the end-to-end execution of a transaction

Superior financial modeling and due diligence capabilities

Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders

Exercises sound and thoughtful judgment with strong leadership abilities to empower and mobilize a team

Organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in situations with changing priorities and multiple simultaneous assignments

Ability to work with deal team members that are located across geographies

Excellent verbal and written communication; experience presenting analyses to senior leaders and ability to lead and drive initiatives

Fluency in English is essential, additional Asian languages are an advantage;

Team-oriented; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization

Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment

Strategic and long-term thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving ability, with ability to think laterally for the benefit of the division and company as a whole

Self-motivated with respect to both managing workload and own professional development
