To be considered for this position, candidates must have a PhD in a relevant field, a strong publication record, and experience in teaching at various levels.

Applicants should submit a cover letter addressing their research and teaching expertise, evidence of research excellence, and a complete CV. Two signature publications by the applicant as lead author are also required.

Contact information of three referees is also required, with one referee being from an institution outside NUS if the applicant is more than two years post-PhD.

  • Responsibilities include teaching courses in visual arts and cultures, developing curriculum materials, and advising students.

  • Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant field, a strong publication record, and experience in teaching at various levels.

  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in history and theory of modern or contemporary art, architecture, design, or visual/material culture; visual studies (including visual anthropology); literary and cultural studies; cultural theory and criticism; exhibition studies; and curatorial studies.

  • Scholars with research expertise or professional experience in Southeast Asian art, visual culture or exhibitions will be favourably considered.

  • Please submit your application package including your CV, cover letter, contact information of three referees, and two signature publications by the applicant as lead author.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant field.

  • A strong publication record is required, including publication in leading journals and university presses.

  • Experience in teaching at various levels is essential.

  • Expertise in multiple areas such as history and theory of modern or contemporary art, architecture, design, or visual/material culture; visual studies (including visual anthropology); literary and cultural studies; cultural theory and criticism; exhibition studies; and curatorial studies is preferred.

  • This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies.

  • The salary is internationally competitive, and benefits include subsidized housing.
