Retail Space Planner

As a Retail Environment Specialist, you will be responsible for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces for retail environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of branding and customer experience objectives, and be able to translate these into spatial design ideas.
- Develop creative and functional interior design concepts tailored for retail environments.
- Translate branding and customer experience objectives into spatial design ideas.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings including space plans, furniture layouts, elevations and sections, joinery and construction details, ensuring drawings comply with building codes and fit-out requirements.
- Create realistic 3D perspectives/renders to visualize the final retail space.
- Model design concepts using software like SketchUp or similar.
- Present rendered views and walk-throughs to clients and stakeholders.
- Incorporate signage, lighting concepts, and branding elements into the interior layout.
- Propose and specify appropriate materials, finishes, color palettes, and fittings.
- Prepare sample boards and coordinate with suppliers for mockups or approvals.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.
- Attend site meetings and inspections to ensure design accuracy during implementation.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), SketchUp
- Strong knowledge of retail space planning, fixture design, and material application
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple retail projects under tight timelines
