Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Internal Audit Director to lead our audit team in delivering high-quality assurance services to the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of banking operations and risk practices, as well as proficiency in audit standards, methods, and company policies.

Audit Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of audit assignments and deliver them within agreed timelines and resource plans.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure thorough risk coverage and align audit focus with key operational areas.
  • Develop and execute customized audit strategies that reflect actual business processes and identified risk exposures.
  • Gather and evaluate supporting documentation to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
  • Design and implement fit-for-purpose audit tests to drive quality and insight during reviews.
  • Ensure all audit work aligns with the organization's risk-based audit framework.
  • Draft clear and concise audit reports highlighting key findings, residual risks, and practical action steps for management review and feedback.
  • Engage with stakeholders to present audit outcomes and discuss proposed improvements.
  • Track and follow up on agreed remediation steps to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of audit experience, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and associated risk practices.
  • Proficient in audit standards, methods, and company policies.
  • Broad familiarity with financial products and banking services.
  • Working knowledge of regional financial reporting, legal, and compliance landscapes.
