Procurement Specialist Role

The primary goal of this Procurement Specialist position is to oversee and execute procurement operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. This role requires an individual with a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Director of Finance & Strategy to formulate procurement strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Request and compare quotations; negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Monitor deliveries to ensure on-time arrival and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases for suppliers, including pricing, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Inventory) to understand purchasing needs and support procurement planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office tools.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related fields would be advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in procurement or supply chain (including internship experience) preferred but not essential.
