We are seeking an entrepreneurial and passionate Junior Category Manager who will be responsible for the sourcing and merchandising of a grocery category. The candidate needs to show skill-sets in stakeholder management, communications, is highly organized and analytical, able to prioritize effectively with a strong bias to action to achieve commercial outcomes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. P&L responsibility of category/subcategory which includes revenue, margin, wastage & other supplier income
  2. Analyse, develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to improve category sales and margin
  3. Work with existing suppliers and negotiate supplier advertising spend while ensuring a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfilment centre
  4. Partner with Retail Operations team to manage inventory levels and wastage
  5. Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure high quality & good value products available to our customers
  6. Provide insights to the Category Manager / Category Director and employ data-driven decision making to achieve category objectives
  7. Work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to ensure we deliver the best experience to our customers
  • Requirements:
  1. 2-4 years of experience, preferably in retail industry/ buying/ merchandising/ category management
  2. Highly energetic, self-motivated and proactive with a passion for e-Commerce & groceries
  3. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships
  4. Extreme attention to detail and follow-up actions as well as a fast turn-around working style is required
  5. Demonstrate ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  6. Highly analytical and comfortable with analyzing complex, large scale data sets
