Job Title

An experienced Analytical Chemist is required to carry out testing of samples with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring adherence to procedures in both quality and timeliness.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment in optimal condition and verifying methods for their intended use, meticulously documenting all processes in accordance with quality system and accreditation requirements.

In addition, they will actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and competencies, aligning with the needs of respective sections and following the development plan.

  • Conduct analysis according to the plan in order to meet TAT (turn around time).
  • Perform data processing and result validation.
  • Perform in-house maintenance according to the schedule.
  • Lead root cause analysis for the respective method in-charge/instrumentation with support from team members.
  • Participate in audits and be main person responsible for closing gaps with support from team members.
  • Act as internal auditor for internal method audit.
  • Be main person responsible for reviewing technical documentation with support from team member.
  • Liaise with vendors (equipment and analytical standards etc).
  • Liaise internally for any enquiry or result follow-up.
  • Manage inventory to ensure no disruption supply to analysis.
  • Regularly perform 5S (housekeeping).
  • Be in charge of instrument preventive maintenance/calibration where applicable.
  • Involved in method validation/verification with support from chemist/lab manager where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Sciences, Analytical Sciences.
  • Experience in at least one key analytical technique.
  • Experience in at least one contaminant analytical technique and knowledge of quality system and good lab practice.
  • Working experience in analytical lab at least two years and above.
  • Experience in ICPMS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) and heavy metal testing would be an added advantage.
  • Candidate with ISO17025 accreditation would be beneficial.
