About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Environmental Health Strategist to lead our company's EHS efforts and contribute to our mission of delivering best-in-class performance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS policies, standards, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
EHS Policy Development:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS professional to develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, standards, and procedures that reflect changing operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant industrial and company safety regulations and standards, as well as experience in formulating strategic, forward-looking EHS policies.
Regulatory Compliance:
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all relevant industrial and company safety regulations and standards. This includes staying updated on the latest regulations, liaising with authorities for clarifications on new or revised requirements, and advising management on potential impacts. Additionally, they will support EHS Managers in communicating and implementing EHS policies at the project level.
Audit & Risk Management:
We require a skilled professional to conduct regular and stringent site inspections to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment. They will review findings from internal and authority-led inspections, formulate improvement plans accordingly, and investigate and review internal incidents/accidents to implement procedural changes or improvements.
Digitisation:
The ideal candidate will be digitally savvy, with experience implementing digital tools to enhance EHS performance. They will develop and implement a digital plan for collecting EHS data from sites, analyse data to assess and improve project EHS performance, and maintain comprehensive EHS training records in coordination with the HR department.
Training:
We are looking for a proactive professional to plan and implement regular EHS training programmes for staff, workers, and subcontractors. They will maintain open communication with Corporate Management and Project Managers to align EHS directions with project operations, identify and highlight potential conflicts between EHS regulations and site operations for resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in EHS leadership roles
- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS policies, standards, and procedures
- Strong knowledge of relevant industrial and company safety regulations and standards
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
