Job Profile

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of production workers, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and handling administrative tasks related to production.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  1. Team Management:Manage and lead a team of production workers, schedule shifts, manage attendance records, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  2. Quality Control:Monitor production processes and workflows, ensure production targets and deadlines are met, implement and enforce quality control measures, and address any production issues or bottlenecks.
  3. Employee Development:Train new employees on production techniques, safety protocols, and company policies, develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  4. Safety Management:Ensure all operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies, conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, investigate and report any accidents or incidents.

Administrative Tasks:

  1. Reporting:Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, defects, and downtime, prepare and submit production reports to the Production Manager.
  2. Inventory Control:Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinate with the procurement department to order supplies as needed.
  3. Process Optimization:Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions, collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and execute process improvement initiatives.
  4. Cost Management:Assist in preparing and managing the production budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.

Collaboration and Communication:

  1. Interdepartmental Liaison:Serve as a point of contact between production workers and upper management, communicate effectively with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
  2. Issue Resolution:Address and resolve employee concerns and production-related issues, facilitate open communication and foster a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role;
  • Strong leadership and team management skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes;
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with production management software;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
