Project Manager: Construction and Estimating

The role involves assisting clients in establishing their needs and conducting feasibility studies to ensure project viability.

  • Prepare and analyze detailed cost estimates for tenders, including materials, quantities, labor, and time factors.
  • Develop and manage tender documents.
  • Negotiate contracts and schedules with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Liaise with construction site managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Oversee work allocation to subcontractors and monitor their performance throughout the project.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to project costs, value, and timelines.
  • Process project progress claims and provide expert advice on contractual disputes.
  • Analyze commercial and contract-related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement them effectively.
  • Evaluate project completion, oversee payment settlements, and certify payments to subcontractors.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar construction or estimating role.
  • Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Prior experience in construction estimation or finance is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and strategize projects effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel between office and various construction sites as needed.
