About the Role:
- We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents with complex trauma histories, emotional regulation difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
- Service Development and Programme Leadership
This includes leading the development and delivery of psychological services tailored to the needs of individuals and groups within the organization. The successful candidate will also develop structured therapeutic frameworks and interventions focusing on trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and resilience.
Evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) among others will be implemented to address the specific needs of the youth population.
Collaboration with residential staff and external partners will be required to design holistic and integrated care plans for youth.
- Direct Clinical Services
The successful candidate will provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Conducting psychological assessments including diagnostic evaluations, cognitive testing, and behavioural assessments is also a key responsibility.
Treatment plans will be developed and monitored to guide therapeutic interventions. Crisis intervention services may be required, including managing immediate risks and addressing urgent behavioural issues.
- Supervision and Training
The successful candidate will supervise counsellors, assistant psychologists, and trainee psychologists. Guidance and mentorship in delivering clinical services will be provided.
Training sessions for staff on trauma-informed care, mental health awareness, de-escalation techniques, and psychological intervention strategies will be led by the successful candidate.
Reflective practice opportunities and clinical supervision will be offered to staff and trainees to support professional development and capacity building.
- Programme Monitoring and Evaluation
Tools will be developed to monitor the effectiveness of mental health interventions. Quantitative and qualitative data will be used to measure outcomes. The successful candidate will evaluate programme success and make data-driven adjustments to therapeutic approaches as needed.
Collaboration with management to ensure services are continuously aligned with best practices and meet the evolving needs of the children and youth is essential.
- Systemic and Community Engagement
The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with community mental health services, schools, hospitals, and other stakeholders to support continuity of care.
Advocacy for youth mental health needs within the organization and at community levels will be required.
Families and caregivers will be engaged to provide psychoeducation and guidance on supporting youth with trauma.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Masters in Clinical Psychology or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional psychology board.
- Eligibility to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Singapore is essential.
Other Requirements:
- A strong commitment to the values and mission of the organization, particularly in supporting at-risk youth.
- Willingness to adhere to organizational policies and maintain the highest standards of professional ethics.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional local languages are advantageous.
Benefits:
Please note that this role is a 5-day work week with a total of 44 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours is required in this role.
