Windows Cloud Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Wintel cloud engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in cloud computing and Windows system administration.

About the Role:

• Provide operational support for Windows Server in both on-premises and AWS environments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
• Manage and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects, Windows Server Update Services, and Windows clustering to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
• Resolve incidents and service requests related to Wintel systems via IT Service Management platforms, prioritizing issues based on business impact and technical complexity.
• Perform patch management and coordinate monthly/quarterly patch cycles using WSUS/SCCM/AWS Systems Manager, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, CloudWatch, and Systems Manager (SSM), optimizing resource utilization and improving overall system performance.
• Implement and review IAM permissions using IAM Access Analyzer and least privilege models, ensuring secure access and minimizing unauthorized access to sensitive resources.
• Execute and remediate findings from CIS Hardening baselines and compliance scans, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to maintain security and compliance.
• Carry out Vulnerability Management System (VMS) remediation and Cloudscape recommendations in collaboration with InfoSec teams, prioritizing vulnerabilities based on severity and business impact.
• Work with Trend Micro Vision One (or similar EDR/XDR platforms) for threat detection and remediation, identifying and responding to potential security threats in a timely manner.
• Assist in automation scripting and remediation via PowerShell, AWS CLI, and SSM Documents, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that critical information is readily available for future reference.
• Participate in audits, patch windows, and disaster recovery testing, ensuring that the organization's systems and infrastructure are secure, compliant, and recoverable in the event of a disaster.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Wintel administration and support, with a strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems.
• 2+ years of AWS experience supporting Windows workloads, including deployment, configuration, and management.
• Experience with IAM roles, security groups, S3 access policies, CloudWatch alarms/logs, and other AWS services.
• Exposure to security and hardening frameworks, such as CIS Benchmarks and SCAP.
• Familiarity with tools like Trend Micro Vision One, Qualys/Tenable, AWS Config, and AWS Systems Manager.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for routine tasks and automation.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for Windows servers in cloud environments.
• Understanding of ITIL practices and experience using ticketing systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation.
