Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and resources to learners, teachers, and parents to promote mental wellbeing and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to learners, addressing various challenges and concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support learners' social-emotional development.
  • Design and implement mental health programs, activities, and services to promote positive mental health across all year groups.
  • Lead professional development opportunities for staff on mental health, wellbeing, and identifying mental health concerns in learners.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a relevant degree and a recognised counselling qualification(s), with higher qualifications preferred.
  • Registered with a recognised professional counselling body in any country, with a willingness to work towards membership with the appropriate local authority if not already registered.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the professional duties, ethical obligations, and legal responsibilities of counsellors, upholding the highest ethical standards in practice and serving as a role model.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, learners, and parents.
  • Experience working with learners and adults from diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Excellent communication skills in Standard English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to provide reflective, empathetic support.
