A senior network architect is required to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions for mission-critical transportation systems. They will oversee the architecture of network solutions that integrate with train control and station subsystems such as CCTV, Passenger Information Systems, Public Announcement (PA) systems, and Master Clock synchronization.
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the architecture of network solutions that integrate with train control and station subsystems.
- Ensure network infrastructure and overall system solutions meet security, performance, and redundancy requirements for mission-critical transportation systems.
- Conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with system integrators, software developers, and hardware vendors to define and implement optimal solutions.
- Lead discussions with customers and internal teams to define system and subsystem requirements and architecture.
- Provide technical guidance and approval for system architecture, ensuring alignment with business and operational needs.
- Oversee the documentation of designs to meet project and customer requirements.
- Review and evaluate third-party solutions for compatibility with Hitachi Rail's ground transportation systems.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior network engineering or architecture role is also required. Industry certifications such as AWS Certification, CISCO Certification (CCNP, CCIE), or equivalent are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in IT infrastructure design, large-scale networking, virtualization, and containerization. In-depth knowledge of software architectures, including N-Tier Architecture, SOA, and microservices, is also essential.
