Transaction Monitoring Expert

Your Role:

  • Develop and Enhance Risk Models: Create and refine anti-money laundering models, leveraging expertise in Actimize or Mantas.
  • Tune and Optimize Scenarios: Refine and improve Actimize or Mantas scenarios to ensure accurate risk assessment.
  • Scripting Language Proficiency: Possess strong skills in one or more scripting languages, including SQL, R, Python, MatLab, and SAS.
  • Model Documentation: Ensure that model development documentation standards are strictly adhered to.
  • Senior Management Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and stakeholders regarding inquiries related to transaction monitoring models.
  • Contribute to Planning and Validation: Participate in the Book of Work planning and Model Validation activity lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand red flag guidance provided by regulatory bodies and optimize transaction monitoring models accordingly.
  • Data Interpretation: Interpret financial/payment data across various lines of businesses.
  • End-to-End Model Life Cycle: Possess a solid understanding and experience of the end-to-end model life cycle.

Your Team:

You will be part of the Methodologies and Models team, responsible for non-financial risk management at UBS.

Your Expertise:

  • Advanced University Degree: Hold an advanced university degree in STEM fields (computer science, natural science, math, statistics, physics, economics, data science, electrical or mechanical engineering, financial engineering, or related domains).
  • Quantitative Modeling Experience: Possess 5+ years of quantitative model development or model validation experience in financial services with strong domain knowledge in Financial Crime Prevention, Market Surveillance, Transaction Monitoring, Financial Crime Compliance, and experience in how these risks can effectively be monitored using models.
  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrate a strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and opportunities, including the ability to analyze data to bridge business purpose.
  • Relevant Hands-on Experience: Have relevant hands-on experience and understanding of model risk management/model governance requirements and processes.
  • Self-starter: Be a self-starter able to manage and prioritize multiple priorities, independently defining/designing, documenting, and defending conceptual soundness, outcomes analysis, identifying boundary conditions, weaknesses, and limitations, and producing high-quality model documentation.
