Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic AI Middleware Optimization Engineer to become a vital member of our team. This position is part of the AI & Cloud Engineering (ACE) Division and the Customer Engineering team. Our global Customer Engineering team is dedicated to assisting clients in effectively utilizing our software tools and services. They provide support for both current and future SOC platforms, along with custom projects and proof of concepts.

Our team plays a crucial role in optimizing, customizing, and enhancing Renesas AI products while providing valuable feedback to the development of AI products and models to ensure the success of our clients' initiatives. You will collaborate closely with developers of AI products and models, gaining invaluable experience in AI product deliveries and contributing to the advancement of next-generation AI hardware and software.

The mission of our division is to leverage cutting-edge AI and cloud technologies to create the most effective AI inference systems for advanced driver safety engineers involved in the development of self-driving vehicles and other high-performance computing products. Renesas stands as the foremost automotive electronics supplier globally, presenting a unique opportunity to establish the infrastructure necessary for deploying our AI software across billions of devices shipped to customers annually. You will join our newly established AI & Cloud Engineering organization, which comprises approximately 100 software engineers. Given the strong demand for our AI-related products, we are planning to significantly expand our team in the coming years, offering ample opportunities for growth while maintaining a close-knit environment. We are particularly focusing on expanding our teams in key locations. If you are successful and currently reside outside these areas, we can assist with relocation based on team requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the development of industry-leading AI products by supporting innovative inferences and customer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with AI development engineers, technical program managers, and customer support engineers to expedite the delivery of next-generation AI products and models.
  • Customize Renesas AI products, including deep learning networks and the implementation of compiler optimization algorithms.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, machine learning, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience in accelerating deep learning models or libraries on various hardware architectures.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, etc.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English at a business level.
  • Experience with Scrum-based development methodologies is a plus.
