Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining area, ensuring safe food preparation and timely service.

Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and serving meals, maintaining accurate records of food supplies and donations, and implementing hygiene and food safety standards at all times.

  • Prepare and serve food according to approved menus.
  • Support meal preparation for internal meetings and events.
  • Pack and distribute donated food items.
  • Maintain proper records of food supplies, groceries, and donations.
  • Evaluate the storage and labelling of food items.
  • Ensure a clean and well-maintained kitchen, dining area, and equipment.
  • Purchase kitchen supplies and groceries as required.
  • Implement hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
  • Assist with food distribution and welfare activities.
  • Support kitchen operations during special events or functions.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be physically fit, and have a strong work ethic.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food handling and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Show ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
  • Be physically fit to handle kitchen tasks.
  • Willingness to support occasional events is necessary.
