Senior Operations Manager Job

Job Summary

A seasoned leader with deep technical expertise in aerospace manufacturing is required to oversee critical operations across supply chain, production, and compliance. This role involves overseeing daily operations of production lines, ensuring reliability and throughput, while implementing strategies to meet and exceed quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sourcing and procurement of high-performance materials, including titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Develop supplier relationships and ensure continuity of supply for mission-critical components.
  • Oversee daily operations of production lines, ensuring reliability and throughput.
  • Implement strategies to meet and exceed quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with aerospace standards, such as AS9100, ASTM, and AMS.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain audit readiness and regulatory alignment.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive operational efficiency and reduce cycle times across manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve KPIs, including first-time yield (FTY) and on-time delivery.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and innovation.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, waste reduction, and process enhancements.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification (preferred).
  • AS9100 Internal Auditor or equivalent certification (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).
