This role will be responsible for creating and driving effective fundraising strategies, executing fundraising activities, and building strong philanthropic relationships for K9Assistance. The Fundraising Executive will plan to meet the yearly fundraising targets to ensure the sustainability of K9Assistance's programmes, which are aligned to achieve K9Assistance's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Stewardship and Donor Relations: Provide strong stewardship to existing stakeholders, corporate partners, and donors to build long-term relationships and cultivate them to have better understanding of the needs of Persons with Disabilities and Assistance Dogs.
  • Donor Database Management: Manage existing donor database and donor relations.
  • Grant Research and Application: Responsible for identifying suitable grants for application.
  • Fundraising Campaign Development: Working with the Management to identify funding needs and direction before developing relevant campaigns.
  • Solicitation and Acquisition: Solicit and acquire new philanthropic gifts from both existing, new, and prospective donors, including endowments, sponsorships from corporates/foundations/trusts/individuals to support K9Assistance's programmes and initiatives.
  • Research and Development: Continually seek out new streams for fundraising – Corporate giving program, recurring donors, individual donors, legacy gifting, etc.
  • Proposal Development: Draft proposals and presentations to present K9Assistance's case for corporate and donor support and sponsorship.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Work with finance team to ensure compliance with legislation and policies pertaining to statutory fundraising requirements, Charities and Code of Governance, i.e. application of licenses and appeals where applicable. Prepare regular reports for internal and external non-financial disclosure reporting.
  • Progress Reporting: Report progress of fund-raising activities to management.
  • Analysis and Evaluation: Able to analyse past fundraising performance and trends to inform future fundraising approaches and calibrate steps to increase donation revenue.
  • Campaign Execution: Organise and oversee the development and smooth execution of internal and external fundraising campaigns and events that are in line with K9Assistance's vision and mission.
  • Corporate Event Planning: Plan, organise, and coordinate corporate events to promote awareness with our partners.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management/ Marketing/ Communications and at least 5 years of experience in the social service sector and in a similar capacity (charity fundraising or non-profit fund management experience).
  • Technical Skills and Competencies: Able to multi-task and possess strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, high standard of numeracy and budgeting skills, strategic thinker with strong negotiation and persuasion skills, knowledge of various fundraising techniques, including online fundraising (digital and social media platforms) with a creative mindset to engage audiences effectively, experience in use of Donation Management System.
  • Generic Skills and Competencies: Strong interest in community work, passion in charity work and a commitment to making a positive impact, excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills, keen eye for aesthetics and design, process oriented, with attention to detail and accuracy, has a strong learning agility and is resilient, adaptable and able to manage change and ambiguity, self-starter who is motivated to work autonomously, take initiative and make sound decisions, strong analytical and marketing skills, team player with good engagement skills, including listening, negotiating and presenting.
