Job Description

As a Train Service Operations Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of train services on our network. Your primary goal will be to deliver train service as scheduled, meeting customer satisfaction and adhering to safety protocols.

You will launch and withdraw passenger service trains according to timetable requirements and ensure that all faults reported by train captains are accurately recorded and promptly handed over to the relevant team members.

You will also carry out train reformation when necessary due to train faults, trackside signaling equipment failure, traction power failures, or track incidents.

Liaising with train crew is essential for efficient operations, including managing activities during traffic hours and non-traffic hours.

You will work closely with station staff in dealing with PSD or HHPSD failures, ECB activations, and other critical situations.

Your role requires decision-making skills, understanding major applications of CBTC and RCCP operating systems.

Incident handling and recovery are critical aspects of this position, requiring swift and safe decision-making.

You will also perform routine point testing to ensure all points are fit for service before start of traffic hours and disseminate operational information through the Urgent Mail System (UMS) during train service disruptions.

Fault reporting and maintenance coordination are essential functions within this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This position requires:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline or another relevant field with significant experience in engineering.
  • The ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
