Pharmacist Role Overview

As a Senior Pharmacist/Principal Pharmacist, you will be based in one of the Public Healthcare Institutions (PHIs) in Singapore.

This role involves overseeing procurement and contract submissions, maintaining accurate pharmacy systems, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage expectations and work closely with clinical pharmacists and/or physicians on alternate sources and drugs when usual sources have supply issues.
  • Ensure proper and comprehensive evaluation of all drugs and gather inputs from key stakeholders (physicians, nurses and/or clinical pharmacists).
  • Represent the institution as an evaluation committee member in drug and pharmaceutical product evaluation.

Maintain optimal inventory to achieve stock availability while avoiding overstocking and wastage. Work with the pharmacy inventory team on inventory management of all pharmacy sections, support stock take activities and reporting.

Timely sourcing and processing of purchase requests from users – ensure requests are fulfilled on time to prevent impact on patient treatment plans.

Verify and submit requirements of national contracts considering past usage and future trends of disease treatment protocols aligned with MOH directives and international guidelines.

Requirements
  • Degree in Pharmacy with minimum 5 years' of relevant professional practice experience.
  • A registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in engaging stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge of SAP-MM.
  • Relevant experience in procurement and inventory management of drugs and pharmaceutical products.
