Job Description:

The Train Service Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of train services. Reporting to the Chief Controller, Operations Control Centre, this individual will oversee various duties within the OCC to guarantee seamless rail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining close vigilance over train operational activities to provide reliable and efficient services at all times.
  • Regulating and monitoring train services according to established timetables.
  • Crafting logical decisions and implementing necessary adjustments to cater to passenger needs.
  • Coordinating with Operations and Maintenance staff to address failure or unexpected events in an expeditious and secure manner.
  • Overseeing daily station opening and ensuring all station equipment is functional before revenue service begins.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Able to perform rotating shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Familiarity with Operations Control Room environments is advantageous.
  • This position is non-executive in nature.
Essential Skills:
  • Able to operate computer-based control systems.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a team environment with diverse individuals.
