Exciting Researcher Opportunities in AI for Mental Health

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team in a new research project focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for mental health. This opportunity will allow you to work at the forefront of AI research and contribute to cutting-edge projects that promote positive socio-emotional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct research on AI-mediated communication in emotional and mental health contexts, applying expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Communication, Computer Science, Information Science, Psychology, or related fields.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate interactive systems or interventions that promote positive socio-emotional outcomes, leveraging skills in quantitative/statistical analysis and computational techniques.
  • Publish and present research in top-tier HCI and communication journals and conferences, contributing to open resources or toolkits for academic and public audiences.
  • Mentor and collaborate with students and interdisciplinary team members, building partnerships with external stakeholders such as community organisations or industry.
  • Support lab development, including organising research activities, managing projects, and contributing to grant proposals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (completed or near completion) in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Communication, Computer Science, Information Science, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven track record with publications in reputable journals and conference proceedings in Communication and HCI.
  • Proficiency in quantitative/statistical analysis and computational techniques (e.g., NLP, data mining).
  • Experience conducting mixed-method research.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
