Job Role:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Sports Coach. As part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering horse riding lessons to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders.

About the Role:
  • Horse Riding Instruction: Teach horse riding lessons in a safe, progressive and enjoyable manner. This will involve instructing riders on various techniques and ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Competition Support: Assist students in preparing for monthly competitions and provide guidance on show day.
  • Rider Development: Encourage students to become more involved in the riding section through pony club participation, additional lessons and competing at shows.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of rider progress, including color levels and quarterly assessments. Participate in clinics to develop riding and teaching skills.
  • Horse Welfare: Report any concerns regarding horse behavior or welfare to management. Attend regular department meetings to stay informed about organizational matters.
  • Overtime and Special Events: Provide instruction during non-standard hours with overtime compensation, and assist with SPC competitions including arena setup and stewarding.


Stable Management Responsibilities:
  • Daily Stable Checks: Conduct daily inspections of riding section stables and horses between 7am & 8.30am, submitting weekly reports as required.
  • Feed and Bedding Orders: Order feed and bedding supplies on a weekly basis.
  • Groom Support: Train and support grooms in their roles.
  • Tack Maintenance: Complete monthly reports detailing tack condition and maintain an inventory of available equipment.
  • Horse Care Records: Maintain accurate records of horse care and allocate horses for daily lessons, schooling and turnout accordingly.


Key Qualifications:
  • Certification: Possess a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor (BHS AI) Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Teaching Experience: Enjoy teaching riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced competitors.
