Senior Cyber Security Engineer Job Description

The role of the Senior Cyber Security Engineer involves developing and implementing comprehensive cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organisation's networks, systems, and data. This includes monitoring, analysing, and responding to security incidents and threats in a timely and effective manner.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities. They will also design and deploy advanced security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organisation's networks, systems, and data.
  • Monitor, analyse, and respond to security incidents and threats in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Design and deploy advanced security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and best practices, and provide training and guidance to other IT personnel.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong background in network security, incident response, and security engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocols, standards, and best practices, such as NIST, ISO, and OWASP.
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
