Laboratory Animal Husbandry Professional

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide top-notch animal care services, encompassing a wide range of routine tasks associated with general laboratory animal care in biomedical research.
This entails performing daily care of animals, including related duties required for the proper care, feeding and housing of laboratory animals. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- performing daily animal checking and identifying clinical and behavior abnormality, to report to veterinary staff;
- performing daily checking of the facility or equipment, to identify and report issues to the supervisor;
- performing routine cage changing and sanitation;
- performing general laboratory animal housekeeping and cleaning duties;
- stocking supplies;
- records keeping;
- operating equipment including cage and rack washers and autoclaves;
- receiving animal shipment.
You will also be expected to assist the veterinary staff when necessary and undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:For this role, we are seeking individuals who possess:
- a diploma in biotechnology or an equivalent discipline (preferably);
- a minimum of GCE 'O', 'N' levels or Nitec;
- good disposition and no aversion to handling laboratory animals;
- ability to multi-task;
- good communication skills;
- attention to detail;
- ability to work independently and in team settings;
- basic knowledge of MS Outlook and ability to become familiar with additional computing software;
- physical capabilities to lift up to 15-25kg, stand for long periods of time, and push equipment or cart weighing 50-100kg.
Valid class 3 driving license will be an added advantage.
