Sr. Associate Counsel Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive legal professional to join our team, focusing on supporting risk and identity solutions in the Asia Pacific region. This role may also support the development and expansion of new and existing products within Visa's Value-Added Services business, including cybersecurity services and legal integration of acquisitions in the risk and identity space.

Job Description:

We are looking for a strong legal advisor and commercial lawyer with excellent communication and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with country and business teams to review and advise on the legal impact of new or updated laws on new business initiatives, as well as existing products and services.

  • Advise on the legal implications of new or updated laws on business initiatives.
  • Liaise with regional and local lawyers to resolve issues and ensure consistency in approach.
  • Monitor the legal and regulatory landscape across the AP region.
  • Conduct product regulatory reviews in various markets to ensure alignment with applicable laws and support new business initiatives.
  • Draft standard product terms and templates for use in support of business objectives.
  • Negotiate and complete complex agreements in support of business objectives.
  • Review externally facing documentation for compliance with applicable laws and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have extensive legal experience within the AP region, including a good understanding of relevant commercial, technology, IP, and financial services laws. Experience of AI or Gen AI based platforms, systems, or products would be advantageous. Strong negotiation skills, good judgment, and being a creative problem solver are essential.
