Job Description:
As a highly skilled Machine Learning and Mathematical Optimization expert, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge solutions for electric vehicle fleet charging optimization. You will be responsible for formulating and developing machine learning and mathematical optimization techniques to tackle complex scheduling problems with various smart power grid constraints, battery degradation, and infrastructure level considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop machine learning and mathematical optimization models for electric vehicle fleet charging scheduling problems with consideration of various smart power grids, battery degradation, and infrastructure level constraints.
- Conduct research within the team and collaborating partners to align with the organization's research strategy.
- Publish research outcomes in reputable international journals and present findings at academic meetings.
- Closely collaborate with our partner ITB to apply solutions in a local context, using available data.
- Assist ITB in integrating developed solutions into their digital twin platform.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (for Research Associate)
- Ph.D. in smart grids, energy management, or mathematical optimizations (for Research Fellow)
- Background in machine learning and mathematical optimization techniques, including reinforcement learning
- Proven publication track record in similar domains for Research Fellow position
- Excellent written and spoken English skills for research work
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work independently and develop solutions under tight timelines
Desirable Qualifications:
- Background in modeling energy management systems (e.g., buildings, batteries, smart grids, vehicle-to-grid, etc.)
