Cell Culture Specialist Job Description

At our biologics manufacturing facility, we are looking for a skilled Cell Culture Specialist to perform routine and critical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and 0-2 years of experience.

About the Role:
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills to join our team. As a Cell Culture Specialist, you will be responsible for executing routine and critical production operations, learning and performing well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), pursuing on-the-job training through Competency Assessments, and attaining operating knowledge of the Process Control System (PCS).

Key Responsibilities:
* Execution of routine and critical production operations
* Learning and performing well-defined SOPs
* Pursuing on-the-job training through Competency Assessments
* Attaining operating knowledge of the Process Control System (PCS)
* Recording data into logbooks and log-sheets
* Reviewing logbooks and log-sheets data
* Performing equipment monitoring
* Performing basic laboratory tasks including but not limited to sampling, pH and conductivity measurements
* Demonstrating aseptic technique in the handling of product and materials if applicable
* Troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues
* Initiating and documenting production events in the Global Event Management System (GEMS) or equivalent system
* Proposing document revisions
* Completing required training on time
* Carrying out work in a safe manner, notifying management of safety issues and risks

Requirements:
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
* 0-2 years of relevant experience
* Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to follow written instructions in EBM, Batch Records, and SOPs
* Proficient documentation and computer skills
* Proficient in aseptic technique where applicable
* Ability to wear PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes
* Ability to gown and gain entry to manufacturing areas
* Ability to work in cold rooms and confined spaces if required
* Ability to work around chemicals (alcohols, acids, bases)
