Senior Packaging Development Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative team as a Senior Packaging Development Engineer.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Packaging Development Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of complex packaging designs that meet established requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test packaging solutions that are cost-effective, sustainable, and protective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement packaging designs that meet established requirements and maintain oversight/streamlining of existing packaging
  • Recommend and develop solutions according to product nature, manufacturing requirements, cost considerations, and protection type required (distribution, moisture, chemicals/cleanliness, ESD, automation, and compliance)
  • Generate and document packaging drawings, BOM, SAP, packaging instructions, and maintain their congruency across factories
  • Develop/generate flexible packaging solutions and document label guides
  • Support Marketing and secondary contract packaging sites, including documentation management and test reports as well as change approval

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical-based engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Efficiently multitask, self-driven, paying attention to details, understanding whom to interact to make progress (supplier contacts, factory, CMT, purchasing, supplier quality, and other engineering groups)
  • Fluent in English communication both spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cross-functionality capability
  • 3D CAD modeling experience with Solidworks or similar
  • Finite element analysis experience using Ansys
  • Six Sigma or statistics experience
  • Expanded foam cushion and pallet design hands-on
  • Package design, tooling design, and test experience, including familiarity with packaging-related ASTM and ISTA test standards
  • Data analysis of large datasets
