Senior Research Analyst I Job Description

The Senior Research Analyst I is a key role within the APAC Polymer Research & Analysis team, responsible for delivering market insights and commercial products. The primary focus of this position is to maintain models and databases, produce regular reports, and respond to client inquiries.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with high attention to detail. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including advanced level expertise in Microsoft Excel, is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and regularly update the CMA database and analytical models, including supply/demand and econometric models, with the potential to revamp and enhance them as needed.
  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate publication of weekly and monthly reports.
  • Create charts, data visualizations, and PowerPoint presentations for client meetings and internal briefings.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly, providing data-driven insights and support as required.
  • Conduct research and draft written reports on industry developments when assigned.
  • Coordinate with the global team to ensure alignment and consistency of products.
  • Contribute to development of new commercial products or enhancement of existing commercial products.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years industry experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • An engineering degree is preferable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese would be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including advanced level expertise in Microsoft Excel.
