Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Middleware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in middleware technologies and platforms, including Websphere, JBoss, Wildfly, Tomcat, Apache, Kafka. Additionally, they should have knowledge of container platforms such as Docker/Kubernetes, operating systems like Linux, Unix, and Windows, and monitoring and data analytics tools like Nagios, OMI, ServiceNow, Geneos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expert support for managed workloads, analyzing and resolving incidents, problems, service requests, and change process management. They will also partner with development, project, and business teams to understand requirements and technical specifications to participate in project deliverables activities.

  • Global production service operations support in middleware technologies and platforms
  • Accountable for the overall service reliability, availability, and stability of the technical scopes
  • Provide technical expert support for managed workloads, including analyzing and resolving incidents, problems, service request, and change process management
  • Partner with the development, project, and business teams to understand requirements and technical specifications to participate in project deliverables activities

In this role, you will drive through a culture of continuous improvements for the production environment through automation or manual work and performance hygiene. You will also work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.

You will engage in several DevOps disciplines, namely CI/CD, Continuous Test, Continuous Monitoring, and Continuous Compliance. Operation and further development of middleware platforms and the associated interfaces is also a key responsibility. Development of self-service interfaces and their workflows is another important task.

As a Middleware Engineer, you will exercise specialist responsibility in strategic projects and initiatives. This includes developing and implementing solutions that meet the needs of the organization. You will also work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum Bachelors in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in middleware technologies and platforms, container platforms, operating systems, and monitoring and data analytics tools
  • Good understanding of ITIL Service Management framework such as Incident, Problem, and Change processes
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical platforms: Jenkins, Ansible, Elastic Search, Rundeck, GIT, Cloud Services (AWS, GCP)
  • Able to work on shift and with on-call support on rotation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and logical skills
  • Customer service-oriented and a strong team player
