Business Analyst

Job Description:

The role of this position is to provide support to the management team by analysing and optimising budget allocation for the organisation. This involves providing advisory services on budget-related matters, conducting finance analysis and formulating guidelines. The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective resource allocation and monitor budget performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advisory services to statutory boards and company limited by guarantee on budget-related matters
  • Contributing to the annual reinvestment fund process by proposing and evaluating proposals submitted by departments and statutory boards
  • Evaluating funding requests to ensure effective resource allocation
  • Monitoring and performing trend analysis to ensure budget optimisation
  • Reviewing finance policies, framework and guidelines for better financial management
  • Preparing annual financial returns and audits required by external agencies
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge in accounting or business administration with preferably at least two years of relevant experience
  • Experience in government agencies/public organisations, with knowledge in public sector financing system and governance will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with the capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with basic understanding of AI tools and their applications
