Job Opportunity: Science Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Science Laboratory Assistant.

  • Main Responsibilities
    • Teaching and Learning Support:
      • Prepare materials, apparatus, and science labs for conducting science experiments, including hydroponics, veggie towers, vermicomposting, and mushroom cultivation.
      • Assist teachers in science-related activities in the lab during lessons and enrichment lessons if required.
    • Maintenance and Administration:
      • Ensure that science apparatus, equipment, and teaching resources are in serviceable conditions, including reporting damages to the relevant authorities.
      • Administer the maintenance of the school eco-garden, including monitoring plant conditions and reporting any issues.
      • Arrange for fish feeding in the pond at the eco-garden.
      • Administer the maintenance of the hydroponics system, including reporting damages and faults to the relevant authorities.
      • Assist in monitoring inventory for science apparatus, equipment, and teaching resources.
    • Supporting School Events:
      • Assist teachers in preparing activities for the science club and science-related events.

Requirements

  • Education: Full GCE 'N' or 'O' Level certificate or its equivalent.
  • Skill Sets: Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. High levels of initiative and motivation.
  • Certifications: Preferably certified in basic First Aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Experience: Preferably with relevant 5 years of work experience in primary school laboratories.
  • Skills: Previous experience with hydroponics, veggie towers, vermicomposting, and mushroom cultivation is an asset.
