About this role:

The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for supporting all events at the school and other venues on campus. They work closely with stakeholders to ensure lighting, sound, and projection are prepared in a timely manner. They also provide on-site support during events and help train students in audio, lighting, video, and other technical skills required for theatre productions.

This role requires effective communication and collaboration with staff, contractors, and external freelancers. The successful candidate will have experience working in a professional theatre, education sector, or relevant arts background. They will be competent in computerized lighting consoles and audio mixers, as well as troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities include designing lighting and sound for specific events, operating and programming digital lighting boards, and maintaining equipment. The role also involves training students and supervising them when using AV equipment. Additionally, the Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for conducting thorough examinations of equipment and systems, recommending solutions to rectify identified defects, and overseeing the work conducted by external vendors.

Facility management is also an essential aspect of this role, including maintaining the control room, store room, and auditorium space in a clean, safe, and organized manner. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism in their work.
