Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Director in Oil and Gas

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Director to join our team in the Oil and Gas sector. Based in Singapore, this role will cover Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing M&A mandates to help achieve sector M&A budget. This includes developing marketing and pitchbook material for client meetings, ensuring mandates are properly and expediently executed to the highest standards, and leading engagement with clients on deal economics, engagement letter, and term sheet negotiations.

As a Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Director, you will be expected to position SCB's O&G M&A Industry Group as a first port of call for SCB's core clients requiring services in M&A advisory. You will also initiate and develop new relationships with target clients and develop and maintain existing client relationships.

You will work closely with Relationship Managers and other colleagues to up-tier key client relationships and help propagate an advisory culture in the wholesale bank. Additionally, you will collaborate with product partners in Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Financial Markets, and Transaction Banking to integrate and cross-sell products.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification from a top-tier school.
  • A strong understanding and interest in the O&G sector, Energy transition, and convergence sector convergence.
  • 3+ years of experience in M&A and oil and gas experience strongly preferred.
  • An inquisitive and curious mind with a strong desire to learn and be innovative.
  • A never-settle attitude with a strong focus on adding value to the client and continuously upping the game.
  • Prior experience in a top-tier investment bank with a track record in Structured Debt, Project Finance, M&A, Capital Markets, Financial Markets, and Structured Trade transactions.
Competitive Salary: SGD 250,000 - 300,000 per annum (estimated)
