Medical Support Associate Role Overview

The Medical Support Associate plays a pivotal role in supporting pharmacists with various tasks, ensuring seamless operations within the pharmacy team. This dynamic individual will be responsible for operating the cash register, taking refill and new prescription orders, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds trust with patients through empathetic understanding and provides personalized assistance to each guest, fostering a positive and helpful experience.
  • Takes refill and new prescription orders via the counter and phone, offering guidance on wait times and insurance coverage issues.
  • Responds to general customer inquiries regarding pharmacy or store information, both at the register and via the phone.
  • Ensures that each guest receives comprehensive counseling from the Pharmacist and all necessary information concerning their prescriptions.
  • Supports the pharmacy team by assisting with ordering, restocking, creating, and updating purchase orders, acknowledging invoices, generating prescription labels, stocking the pharmacy with supplies.
  • Assists with front-of-store operations as directed by the pharmacy manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of GCE 'A' Levels / Diploma and above. A keen interest in the healthcare/medical industry is essential, while no prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is also beneficial.
