Energy Sustainability Specialist Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled energy professional to lead our organization's energy strategy and ensure the efficient use of resources. This critical role involves overseeing the implementation of energy-saving initiatives, monitoring energy consumption, and developing policies to reduce our environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benchmark energy consumption across various sites and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections, energy surveys, and audits to gather data on energy usage.
  • Analyze and maintain accurate energy monitoring data and records, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive energy policies, systems, and annual improvement plans that align with our sustainability goals.
  • Manage and negotiate energy supply contracts, fostering positive relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Lead energy-related projects and workplace safety initiatives in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Promote renewable energy sources and sustainable practices throughout the organization, driving a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Stay informed about emerging energy regulations and environmental legislation, ensuring our organization remains compliant.
  • Provide training and guidance on energy efficiency and conservation best practices to employees.
  • Oversee carbon management and reduction initiatives, setting ambitious targets for reducing our impact on the environment.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field, demonstrating expertise in energy management.
  • A strong understanding of energy regulations and conservation practices, enabling effective decision-making.
  • Experience working with energy monitoring systems and data analysis software, showcasing technical proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills, facilitating collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with carbon management and renewable energy technologies is highly valued.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification, confirming professional competence.
  • Knowledge of ISO 50001 or similar energy management standards, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Experience in the Power Plant Industry is an asset, but not required.
