About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Assistant to join our team. This role involves hands-on production of pastries, with opportunities to learn advanced pastry techniques and contribute to the smooth daily operations of our kitchen.

The Successful Candidate
  • Preparation and production of pastries, including weighing and measuring ingredients, cookie cutting, dough portioning, splitting and handling dough for baking, and choux pastry production.
  • Assembly and decoration of pastries with precision and creativity.
  • Maintenance of high standards in taste, texture, and presentation of all pastries.
  • Support of pastry chefs with additional production tasks as required.
  • Maintenance of a clean and organized workstation throughout the day.
  • Participation in end-of-day kitchen cleaning and equipment maintenance, ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are upheld.

Requirements

We are looking for an individual with prior experience in a pastry/baking environment, a strong interest in pastry arts, and a desire to improve technical skills. You must also be able to demonstrate attention to detail, ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with early morning start times, and be reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player.

Job Details

This is a full-time position, working 5.5 days a week, with a starting time of 6:30am or 7:00am. The role requires a flexible approach to working hours and may involve working evenings and weekends on occasion.
