Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned attorney with expertise in commodities trading and structured transactions to join our team. The successful candidate will provide legal support to our Fixed Income Division, focusing on the Commodities business.

The role involves advising on a wide range of derivative and structured transactions, as well as providing support to the international commodities business. This is a Vice President level position within the Attorney - Product/Business Advisory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on derivative and structured transactions, including secured hedging transactions and structured note issuances.
  • Provide legal advice on new/existing products, including assisting with legal questions that arise in the negotiation of various commodities master trading agreements.
  • Assess and advise on regulatory requirements relating to existing/new/expanded markets.
  • Monitor updates to, and advise on, applicable regulation.


Requirements
  • Lawyer with strong derivatives trading and structured transaction experience.
  • Experience in advising on both commodity derivatives trading and physical commodities trading would be preferred.
  • Legal qualification in a major financial centre.
  • Good knowledge of how Commodities markets function and underlying regulatory framework.
  • At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
