Supervising Adult

Nexus International School is looking for a Supervising Adult to oversee the well-being and safety of our learners during breaks and lunchtimes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be calm and approachable, and able to think quickly in problem-solving situations.

• Serve as a supervising adult for our learners during break and lunch times

• Interact with learners and staff to form strong relationships within the school community

• Ensure learners are safe, happy, and looked after at all times

• Help resolve conflicts between learners that may arise during lunch or break times

• Maintain and enforce essential agreements put in place by the school

• Have regular contact and feedback with SLT links

• Pass on any safeguarding concerns that may arise as part of your role

• Involvement in whole school events and activities as required

• Perform other duties assigned by management and stakeholders

A Typical Day:

As a Supervising Adult, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school's daily routines. You will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our learners.

You will be responsible for supervising learners during break and lunch times, providing guidance and support as needed. You will also be expected to interact with learners and staff to build positive relationships within the school community.

One of the key aspects of this role is being proactive in resolving conflicts between learners that may arise during lunch or break times. You will need to remain calm and composed in these situations, using your excellent communication skills to de-escalate tensions and find solutions that benefit everyone involved.

Another important responsibility is maintaining and enforcing essential agreements put in place by the school. This may involve working with learners, staff, and parents to ensure that everyone is aware of and adheres to these agreements.

Regular contact and feedback with SLT links is crucial in this role. You will need to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and initiatives within the school, and be able to communicate effectively with senior leaders to ensure that your role is aligned with the school's overall goals and objectives.

Finally, you will be expected to pass on any safeguarding concerns that may arise as part of your role. This may involve reporting incidents or concerns to the appropriate authorities, or working with learners and staff to develop strategies for preventing and responding to safeguarding issues.
