Coastal Design Engineer
Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and coordinating the design activities for large-scale infrastructure and reclamation projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out design reviews of C&S and geotechnical designs and analyses for coastal structures such as quay walls, ports, jetties, revetments, and land reclamation etc.
  • Assist the Design Manager in coordinating, managing, and overseeing all design-related matters including ensuring design coordination, document submission from contractors is in accordance with the time schedule.
  • Coordinate with Contract and Construction teams and provide necessary information or correspondences on changes which deviate from the contract and may lead to time and cost implications.
  • Chair all design coordination meetings.
  • Assist the Project Lead/Project Manager in reviewing plans for site investigation and result interpretation, reviewing C&S, environmental, and geotechnical designs and analyses for coastal structures, managing sub-contracts, and supervising both design and/or site work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from a recognised and reputable university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure/reclamation projects.
  • Possess the skill, knowledge, and ability to manage and coordinate all design activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Team player and able to multi-task.
  • Discipline, self-motivated, and resourceful.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in contract administration.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc).
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc.
