Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Naval Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for conducting hull structure strength assessments, proposing methods to strengthen the structure, and preparing analysis reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural analysis and assessment of ship hulls
  • Propose and implement methods to strengthen ship structures
  • Prepare detailed analysis reports, structure plans, lashing calculations, and stowage plans
  • Collaborate with class, owners, and charterers to resolve disputes related to ship strength and cargo loading
  • Provide engineering support to the business team during bidding and ship evaluation processes
  • Maintain work databases and optimize operation costs
  • Conduct training and share technical knowledge with colleagues as needed

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Structure/Basic Design Engineer in a shipyard or marine engineering company
  • Hands-on experience with Autocad system or similar CAD systems
  • Proficiency in using Femap & Nastran structure analysis software or similar software
  • Familiarity with cargo lashing design, DNV's Lashcon, or similar software
  • Good knowledge of ship stability, weight control, ship loading, marine structure, and welding design
  • Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and proactively, handling work under pressure in ad-hoc situations
