About the Role

The Health Promotion Board is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Oral Health Promoter, School Dental Services. As a key member of our School Dental Services department, you will play a crucial role in promoting good oral health and dental fitness among school-going children and adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement oral health education and promotion activities for pre-schoolers, school children, and adults to create awareness of good oral health and dental fitness.
  • Organize toothbrushing exercises in pre-schools and deliver health education presentations to children, teachers, and parents to convey effective health messages through interactive engagement and hands-on demonstration techniques.
  • Provide on-site oral health screening programs, oral health fluoride therapy, and fissure sealants to children in pre-schools and secondary schools (for those with a certificate in dental therapy).
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school dental clinic, including infection control and decontamination procedures.
  • Participate in service deliveries and quality audit activities, provide feedback and suggestions for service improvements.
Requirements
  • 'O' Level, 'N' Level, NITEC or Diploma qualification (appointment designation will commensurate with relevant work experience).
  • A strong sense of responsibility and independency with good teamwork skills.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, and social skills for effective rapport building with children and youth.
  • Proficiency in spoken English Language.
  • Proficiency in speaking a second language (an advantage).
